Privacy, plainly.
eincard has no accounts and keeps your flashcards on your device. To improve the app, it collects a small amount of pseudonymous usage data that doesn't directly identify you — never the content of your cards.

Pseudonymous usage analyticseincard measures aggregate product usage through PostHog — for example app opens, retention over time, and whether setting up an automation succeeds. These events carry basic technical properties (such as app version and device type) and are tied to a random identifier generated on your device, not to you personally.

Not directly identifyingThat identifier is not your name, email, Apple ID, phone number, or advertising ID. We don't use it to identify you, track you across other apps, or sell or share your data. Because it persists, the law still treats it as pseudonymous personal data — so the rights below apply.

Contacting supportIf you email us, we process your email address, message, and any attachments only to reply. Our mailbox is provided by Google (Gmail), and we keep support emails no longer than needed to handle your request.
Analytics are handled on our behalf by PostHog as our data processor (see posthog.com/privacy), hosted on PostHog's EU Cloud. Your IP address is discarded at ingestion and never stored with events, and we don't derive location from it. You can turn analytics off any time in the app under Settings → Anonymous usage stats. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving eincard (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). We keep this data no longer than we need it to understand how eincard is used; our current PostHog plan retains events for about 12 months.
You can also ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to the processing of your data, and you can complain to your data protection authority. As analytics data is pseudonymous, we may need the identifier tied to your device to locate it — email kmetofilip2@gmail.com and we'll help. Any change to this policy will be posted here.

How do I set up the automation?
Open Shortcuts → Automation → + → App → pick an app → Is Opened → Run Immediately (toggle Notify When Run off) → Next →Create New Shortcut → search “eincard”, add the eincard gate action → tap the blue app token and re-select the same app → Done. eincard walks you through this with pictures inside the app.
The gate isn't showing up.
Make sure the automation is set to Run Immediately (not “Ask Before Running”), and that the app token inside the shortcut matches the app the automation triggers on. Re-selecting that blue token is the step most people miss.
Does eincard block or lock my apps?
No. It adds a moment of friction — a flashcard — before you scroll. You can continue whenever you're ready. It's a pause, not a lock.
